So I'm sitting here at work, bored of my ***, trying to find something to do. My Rubix cube is all aligned, the paper is read, there's nothing to do except work, and I'm hardly about to do that. So I figure I might as well start a discussion on here.

It's got to be something that'll start a lot of controversy, because otherwise it'll be no fun. It's got to be something that hasn't been beaten to death on here (Yes, 55 monks are nerfed, no, fire magic isn't useless now, and yes, 15^50 items ARE expensive) while still retaining enough of a tie to the game to still be interesting. So I settled on one of the good old-fashioned sh*t starters.

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm 5'9", about 160-170 lbs, have something around 5% body fat, am fanatically involved in several extreme sports from Parkour to Skiing, have seven years of intensive martial arts training, a foot long dread-locked beard, work as an ITR Manager for a small publishing company, drink Amsterdamn Blonde and Molson Canadian beer by choice, am afraid of spiders, love heights (Mountain climbing and Buildering are among my hobbies) and am openly bi-sexual.

I am, in a nutshell, the last person you would ever expect to be gay. Thankfully, I live in a city where homosexuality is usually accepted, ignored, or at worst, tolerated. Long live Toronto.

Homophobia is not something I encounter all that often. I'm very comfortable with who I am, and I really don't get bothered by much, because people who ARE openly homophobic are generally smart enough not to talk up their views around someone with several dozen martial arts medals and trophies. So ... the guild wars community is a hell of a shock to me at times.

I'm not sure if I'm finally encountering the real world, or if this is a sad symptom of reclusive nerds living out fantasy lives online (I qualify too, so no taking offense), but is the entire game populace homophobic? Everything in the game is "gay", bad players are all 'faggots,' and I know longer believe that my teammates are merely rooting for my boyfriend when they tell me to go 'suck [expletive] fag0t'.

So here's the point of all this. Wait, no. The point of all this is previously stated: I'm bored and want to start shit. Here's the guise under which I'll accomplish that. I want other GW players to come forward and let me know I'm not the only one around here who thinks that [expletive]-sucking is a recreational activity, not an insult. I want to see someone brave enough to post a message everyone can read telling me how much 'faggots suck.' I want to know why every third player in guild wars isn't just voting Republican, they're downright proudly homophobic. I wonder if any of the GWG forum members are too.

Plus, has anybody looked at the NPC names in this game? Stefan? DAMN... If ANet was homophobic, the most useful (least retarded?) NPC in the game sure wouldn't be called STEFAN.

Many people empathise with the situation. However, your second to last paragraph gives me enough reason alone to stop this before it starts.
